IBT - Integrative Moving Trauma Therapy

IBT is a body-oriented method for deep, holistic trauma processing.
Through IBT, movement is used to create intense emotional (change) experiences.

In everything we experience, we inevitably have our body "with us". Without being aware of it, we express all our emotions with our body and are in motion.
If something beautiful happens to us, this feeling is stored in body movements and by exploring these movements we can also reactivate the good feelings.

In the same way, movement can reactivate negativity. Also, all our relationship experiences - even the ones we made when we were very small - are "stored" in our body.
IBT makes use of these mechanisms: Through movement, feelings related to experiences can be reactivated - but this time in the safety of the therapeutic setting and with the knowledge in the back of one's mind that one now usually has more options for action than when bad experiences were made.

The therapist recognises the movements and begins to explore them together with the client and to accompany the change. This also changes the emotional experience and old patterns can be transformed.

IBT is a resource- and process-oriented trauma therapy method that is particularly suitable for processing traumatic experiences and dissolving dissociation, especially body dissociation.

IBT expands the awareness of one's own body and its expressive possibilities, so it is possible on a deep level to build (self-)confidence and develop an integrated sense of self in the body.

IBT was founded by Mag. Romana Tripolt developed and presented at several professional congresses in recent years. It as complete course taught by her.
